The United boss has selected a blend of experience and youth for the visits to Thailand, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong, while three other first-team stars - Robin van Persie, David De Gea and Shinji Kagawa - will join up with the rest of the squad later this month.
The players arrived at the airport at around 1pm in time for the flight approximately two hours later.
Among them was Wayne Rooney, who has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, possibly to Premier League rivals Chelsea.
For now though he remains a United player and he is likely to feature in United's first pre-season work-out against the Singha All Star XI in Bangkok on Saturday.
Manager David Moyes said in a radio interview earlier on Wednesday that he has held four meetings with the unsettled striker in an attempt to persuade him to stay.
The full tour squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Anders Lindegaard, Ben Amos
Defenders: Rafael, Phil Jones, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra, Alex Büttner, Fabio, Michael Keane
Midfielders: Michael Carrick, Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Ryan Giggs, Wilfried Zaha, Jesse Lingard, Adnan Januzaj
Strikers: Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck
Robin van Persie and David De Gea will join the squad in Sydney, while Moyes confirmed last week that Shinji Kagawa will fly out for the Japan leg of the trip. Javier Hernandez will miss the trip as he completes his holiday after only recently completing international duties for Mexico.
During the first leg of the tour, the Reds play matches in Bangkok, Sydney, Yokohama, Osaka and Hong Kong, and a final tour match against AIK in Stockholm is scheduled for 6 August.
